Active Guy!
Dr. Moffitt and I were really excited today when we received the first photos of kids being active. The student above, Emmit, certainly has been busy lately with tennis lessons and a day of fishing. We also hear he likes a "brain activity" - chess! Thanks to Emmit and his family for sharing the pictures which will also be posted in a display case at school.

Keep Moving!
A few weeks ago a group of teachers tried something new - Zumba! Dr. Moffitt set up a session at Busy Bodies studio in Wakefield and Wow- did we move! And there were plenty of laughs from those of us who didn't know the routines.
Remember - if you have a picture of you and your family being active, just send it to Dr. Moffitt or Mrs. Reiser-Jones via email. Or your child may bring in the picture and we'll post it on this blog and in the hallway.
Meanwhile - we're halfway done with the month so keep your bodies and your brains active!

Stay tuned for photos of students, teachers, and families enjoying activities together. Keep your body and your brain moving!

Well Done!
Thank you to all the people, students and staff, who participated in CharlestownFit. The final tally ended up being 94 completed calendars. We exceeded last year by more than 30. Next year the goal will be to get half the school to participate.

Excellent Returns!!!
We have had more than 70 students return their Fitness Logs!! We beat last years number. It is very exciting to see what everyone has been doing! Great job being active and making healthy choices. Keep up the good work, look for a summer log to return in September in your Reading folder when it comes home.

Enjoy!!
Remember all your logs/calenders need to be returned by June 3.

7th Inning Stretch!
To keep all of us motivated, remember we have only 11 days to go in May Fitness Month. So, keep recording all your activities and keep active! That can include Mileage Club during recess for 3rd and 4th graders as well as PE classes and all the other things you do at home.
Remember to look for the Trivia Question and submit your answer to Dr. Moffitt. Sarah G. won a prize for her answer - a marathon is 26 miles!
You don't have to run a marathon to participate, but keep moving!
