Well Done!
Thank you to all the people, students and staff, who participated in CharlestownFit. The final tally ended up being 94 completed calendars. We exceeded last year by more than 30. Next year the goal will be to get half the school to participate.

7th Inning Stretch!
To keep all of us motivated, remember we have only 11 days to go in May Fitness Month. So, keep recording all your activities and keep active! That can include Mileage Club during recess for 3rd and 4th graders as well as PE classes and all the other things you do at home.
Remember to look for the Trivia Question and submit your answer to Dr. Moffitt. Sarah G. won a prize for her answer - a marathon is 26 miles!
You don't have to run a marathon to participate, but keep moving!

We're Halfway!
We've noticed some teachers have their own fitness logs posted in their classrooms - what a great example for our students! We also know that many parents are participating with their children to try to change habits and get the family more active.
We've heard about some awesome scores and would love more comments with postings of scores and how you're doing.
Be sure to check out this blog next week when Dr. Moffitt will post a daily Trivia Question. If you have the answer, you can write down your answer and put it in the Trivia Box in the gym. At the end of each day, 5 lucky names will be drawn for a small prize!

Mrs. St. Clair's Class - ACTIVE Learning!

It's also exciting to see the comments from students and everyone on this blog. We keep checking the page views daily and are excited to see the number grow. We would like to have 1,ooo views before the end of the month.
It looks like it should be nice this weekend. Hopefully you will find some time to do something active and add it to your log.
Keep up the good work and let us know what you are doing!!

It's May!
So our month has begun and the last posting had a comment from Mrs. McGill's 3rd grade class. We brainstormed in library class and they came up with a short and sweet message - have a look on the April 25th posting.
I'm still learning about posting comments, moderating them, and getting them published so if you don't see your comment, please be patient. Meanwhile, I hope families are planning activities to add to the activity worksheet. We welcome your comments and questions!

Get Ready for May Fitness Month!
After piloting a new program, wwwCharlestownFit, last year, this year Dr. Cathy Moffitt and Cindy Reiser-Jones hope to add more features to engage students and families. One hope is that this blog will be a popular interactive site for families to post their activities during the month of May.
So, if you're interested, just click on the Comments button and let us know what your family is doing to enjoy May Fitness month. We will moderate all comments before they are posted, so your comment may not appear until the following day. We welcome all positive contributions that you want to share with the Charlestown School community. Also, feel free to sign up as a Follower of this blog. Welcome and we hope to hear from you!
